Big news everyone! We are now qualified for the 2025 FIRST Championship! But we need to earn $5,000 by April 9th to register… So, we need your help.
We are FRC Team 6909, SAKURA Tempesta, a team from Japan, and we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve earned a spot at the World Championship! After receiving the Engineering Inspiration Award at the Minnesota 10,000 Lakes Regional, we are now qualified for the Championship, but we face a significant challenge: we need to raise $5,000 by April 9th to cover the participation fee.

As a team from Japan, we encounter several unique obstacles. Financially, geographically, and culturally, we face hurdles that many other teams don’t. Despite these challenges, we’ve worked incredibly hard to learn engineering from the ground up, and it’s paid off. Our robot is stronger than ever, and we ranked 13th out of 51 teams at the Minnesota 10,000 Lakes Regional in Week 5. Earning the Engineering Inspiration Award was a huge honor, and we are now ready to take our skills to the World Championship.

Japanese FRC teams face dozens of obstacles. The logistics of traveling from Japan to the U.S. are daunting. The 14-hour flight, the cost of shipping our robot, borrowing batteries, and the need to bring all our specialized tools and parts mean that we have to invest a tremendous amount of time, resources, and money just to participate in a regional event. However, this is our fifth opportunity to go to the Championship, in the eight-year history of our team. We have grown stronger as a team, and our robot is stronger than ever. We want to show the world what a group of passionate, dedicated Japanese students can do. We want to represent Japan and demonstrate that, no matter the adversity, we can rise to the challenge. We’ve been inspired and supported by so many teams along the way—both in Japan and at the Minnesota regional—and now we want to bring our best performance to the Championship.

This is our chance to showcase everything we’ve worked for. Please help us reach our goal by supporting our fundraising efforts. Your contribution will directly support our journey to the World Championship, and your support will mean the world to us. We can’t do this without you.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we’ll show the world who Team 6909, SAKURA Tempesta, is!
Thank you,
Team 6909 SAKURA Tempesta
